Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Apart from the cookies the game needs to work, nothing — no cookie, no analytics script — loads before you choose.

2. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent needed)

• mtg_guest — your Mind Card assessment session; 2 hours.
• mtg_player — a random player id for one Daily Puzzle per day; 400 days.
• mtg_tz — your time zone, to know when your day starts; 400 days.
• sb-…-auth-token — your account sign-in (Supabase); until you sign out, at most 400 days.
• mtg_signin — the e-mail address a sign-in code went to, until you enter the code; 10 minutes.
• mtg_fb, mtg_sum, mtg_earned — the feedback on an answer, a session’s summary and what you earned, until the page shows them; 15 minutes.
• mtg_display — the text size, font, contrast and motion choice you save on the Display page; only once you save it, 1 year.
• mtg_consent — your choice on this page; 1 year.

3. Analytics (consent)

If you accept, we set a random analytics id in your browser (mtg_aid, 1 year) and send usage events (such as finishing the assessment or sharing the puzzle) with that id from our server to PostHog’s EU servers. Events never contain your name, e-mail, IP address, anything you typed or your raw scores; scores travel only as ranges. We also keep anonymous daily totals of some events (such as card shares) in our own database. If you decline or withdraw consent, the id is deleted and no events are sent; every part of the game still works.

When you play signed in, game events are sent from our server, not your browser, according to your account’s analytics permission, which you change in your account Settings.

4. Consent text (analytics)

I consent to Mentagon processing events about my use of the site to improve it, and to their transfer to PostHog Inc.’s EU servers. I know I can withdraw this consent on this page at any time.
