Fair-Play Policy
The rules of rated play, how we watch over them, decisions and appeals.

Draft: this text is a template published before legal review.
1. Why
Rated scores, the league and the Mind Card only mean something if everyone plays with their own mind. Practice mode gives hints and explanations freely; these rules are for rated play.
2. Not allowed in rated play
- AI tools, search engines or anyone else’s help.
- Sharing, copying or collecting questions or answers.
- Playing on several accounts, or letting someone else play yours.
- Automated tools, bots and abusing flaws in the system.
3. How we watch
Times are kept on the server. The game records counts only: time to answer, leaving the app or the tab, paste attempts, screenshot events. Your screen, camera and typing are never recorded. Results are compared statistically with what your rating predicts.
No signal is a reason for a sanction on its own: a suspicion opens a case for a fair-play officer to review; the system never penalises anyone by itself.
4. Decisions
- A warning.
- Annulled results: rated results of a period no longer count, ratings are corrected and weekly points come off a league whose week is still open.
- Rated play closed: for a period or until lifted; practice and the Daily Puzzle stay open.
- For serious or repeated breaches, the account is closed.
When a decision is made we tell you the category and the period affected; how it was detected is not shared.
5. Appeals
You may appeal once, within 14 days of a decision, in the app or on your account page. An officer who did not make the decision reviews it, usually within 7 days. If the appeal succeeds, annulled results and ratings come back and any restriction is lifted.
6. Data
Raw game counts are kept for at most 90 days, case records for 2 years after the case closes. Fair-play assessment serves the integrity of the game only; it is never used for hiring or education decisions. Details: the Privacy Notice.
